Snippets of Christmas Around the House

A few snippets of Christmas cheer around our home.

I'm proud that this year, homemade and handmade decorations are hung alongside the garish store bought decorations. I'm proud that Master L had his chance to really put his spin on the tree decorating this year- it's far from perfect but he thoroughly enjoyed himself and I believe I might have enjoyed watching him even more.

Jodi's post has made me realise that since becoming a mother I have embraced and now look at with delight, what I once would have considered imperfections. Toys arranged in a haphazard fashion, scribbles on a piece of crumpled paper and wrinkled bed covers have now become a young child's imagination conjuring up a whole other world; a picture of our beloved family dog and the mark of an excited toddler practising his co-ordination by jumping on my neatly made bed. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

Have you made any Christmas decorations this year? Do you have a favourite decoration your child has made?

  1. Ooooh some lovely bouts of Christmassy goodness here. I always love the story behind a homemade/handmade treasure...especially this time of year.

I love the pine cones with the gold.

A few of our Christmas decorations have been made by Ella.... Our front door 'wreath', a glittered angel on the mantlepiece, some hanging paper drawings etc. They add to the character of our home - they tell our story!

P.S. That little rocking horse is divine too :)

  2. You're such a creative Mumma Claire and I know Ella has inherited this from you- I bet her decorations are just lovely. You're so right, they do tell a story. I'm definitely looking forward to adding to the collection of home-made decorations each year. Thanks for stopping by Claire x
